Between Distance and Wonder
A place exists
where you can look out upon it all
in a single sweeping glance.
Take in everything—
and everything looks simple.
Nothing to crowd your vision,
just looking, pondering,
watching the world pass by,
oblivious to the fact that it's being watched.
It's easy to stand and feel the earth
move underfoot
while the wide ceiling rotates effortlessly.
Thousands of nameless objects,
millions of names—
but they don't need them
because they don't know what they are.
You can cast a stone as far as possible
or fling an arrow into the sky;
no one will ever find them.
This place exists,
not on mountains or hills
or anyplace ever visited—
a certain location residing somewhere
between distance and wonder...
